If SBI has a savings account, know about these important benefits
Many major banks in the country have fixed minimum balance limits on the savings account. However, the country's largest public sector bank State Bank of India (SBI) has started a new savings account. Under this service, customers will be able to get rid of Minimal Balance scandal. According to information from SBI, the minimum balance requirement on the Basic Saving Bank Deposit Account (BSBD account) will not be applicable.
SBI's BSBD account can be opened easily, just like any other account. It is necessary to follow the KYC rules to open this account. This account can be opened single or joint. SBI has the facility to open this account in any branch across the country.
Under this new account, account holders will get all the facilities that are available on other savings accounts. The annual interest on this account will be the same as that found in the State Bank's second savings account. This account also offers facility like debit card and net banking. However, one of the main conditions for opening this account is that the customer has no other savings account.
If the customer has any other savings account, they have to be closed within 4 weeks.
